Description

Artisanal Indigenous Heritage & Tailored Architectural Presence

Bring commanding proportions, organic warmth, and bespoke hotel-suite luxury to your sleeping sanctuary with the Rio Kiaat Wood Headboard with Genuine Leather. Designed with an expansive horizontal profile—measuring 2.6 meters for Queen suites and 2.9 meters for King layouts—this statement panel extends elegantly past the mattress to frame flanking bedside nightstands in a cohesive, custom-built installation. Handcrafted in South Africa by master artisans, the Rio headboard unites the distinctive two-tone grain character of indigenous Kiaat with the refined tactile elegance of a padded genuine leather inset.

Key Features & Premium Construction

• 100% Genuine Leather Center Inset: Hand-tailored in premium genuine leather that ages gracefully over time, providing a soft, supportive backrest for nighttime reading while adding sophisticated textural contrast against the timber frame.
• Solid Kiaat Structural Framework: Built with solid indigenous Kiaat timber for the outer perimeter frame, mounting rails, and face borders, paired with balanced Kiaat veneers across internal structural substrates to prevent checking, splitting, or warping under fluctuating room temperatures.
• Seamless Extended Width Framing: The oversized width creates a unified backdrop behind your nightstands, concealing unsightly wall plugs, lamp cords, and charger wires while grounding your bed as the central architectural focal point.
• Versatile Dual-Mount Installation: Engineered for effortless setup with flexible mounting solutions. Fasten it securely to the rear of your bedside pedestals for a stable, integrated bedroom suite, or float it cleanly off your bedroom drywall or masonry using the included heavy-duty wall cleat system.
• Protective Clear Varnish Finish: Sealed in a durable clear varnish topcoat that highlights the vibrant organic contrast between golden honey sapwood and deep reddish-brown heartwood while guarding against daily surface scuffs, spills, and bedroom humidity.
• Ultra-Slim 40mm Depth Profile: Designed with a space-conscious 40mm depth that hugs the wall closely, maximizing floor clearance while accommodating plush pillows, duvets, and mattress toppers without pushing your bed frame into walkway zones.

Styling & Bedroom Placement Ideas

Mount the Rio Kiaat Headboard against a rich dark green, deep navy, charcoal, or warm mocha feature wall to let the two-tone golden amber wood and rich brown leather stand out in striking contrast. Flank the extended wings with matching Kiaat bedside pedestals, and dress the bed with crisp neutral linen bedding, textured waffle throws, and warm ambient bedside lighting. Complete the suite by pairing it with an Elm Kiaat Blanket Box or Kiaat Dresser Stool for a cohesive, organic sanctuary.

Care & Maintenance:

• Dust timber frame and leather panel weekly using a clean, soft dry microfiber cloth.
• Wipe wood sections clean with a slightly damp cloth when necessary and buff completely dry immediately with a clean towel.
• Nourish the genuine leather inset twice yearly with a quality leather conditioning cream to preserve its natural oils, suppleness, and prevent drying.
• Clean and nourish the varnished timber surfaces periodically with a quality wood furniture cream to preserve its rich grain luster.
• Avoid dragging abrasive objects across surfaces, keep clear of direct radiators or heaters, and shield from harsh, direct UV sunlight.
