Classical Sleigh Silhouette & Handcrafted Solid Kiaat Joinery

Anchor your bedroom suite with the balanced proportions, versatile multi-tier storage, and heirloom-quality craftsmanship of the Sleigh Kiaat Wood Bedside Pedestal (600mm). Scaled with a generous 600mm width, 450mm depth, and 650mm height, this premium nightstand provides an expansive surface for designer table lamps, carafe sets, and personal decor without crowding bedside walkways. Handcrafted in South Africa by master cabinetmakers, this piece highlights the celebrated two-tone character, enduring structural strength, and tactile grain textures of indigenous southern African Kiaat timber.

Key Features & Premium Construction

• Multi-Tier Functional Storage: Thoughtfully engineered with three distinct storage zones—an extendable slide-out tray for morning coffee or bedtime tea, an open cubby shelf to keep current reading books or tablets within easy reach, and two deep lower drawers for concealed bedside essentials.
• Discreet Pull-Out Extension Tray: Located just beneath the top surface, this smooth-gliding timber tray extends your usable bedside surface area when needed and tucks completely flush when closed.
• Solid Kiaat & Precision Veneer Blend: Hand-assembled utilizing solid indigenous Kiaat timber for structural legs, top surface borders, and drawer face framing, paired with balanced Kiaat veneers across internal side panels and drawer boxes to eliminate seasonal timber checking, cracking, or warping under fluctuating bedroom temperatures.
• Protective Clear Varnish Finish: Coated in a durable, smooth clear varnish that seals the timber against daily surface wear, scuffs, and ambient moisture while enriching the organic contrast between golden amber sapwood and deep reddish-brown heartwood.
• Heavy-Duty Smooth Gliding Action: Both drawers operate on durable, smooth-running glides engineered for effortless daily access, quiet operation, and reliable alignment over decades of use.
• Cohesive Suite Pairing: Designed to coordinate effortlessly with our Elm Kiaat Headboards, Elm Half Kiaat Headboards, Rio Kiaat Headboards, and Kiaat Wood Dresser Stools for a unified, organic master retreat.

Styling & Bedroom Placement Ideas

Flank your bed with a matching pair of Sleigh Kiaat Pedestals set against a rich dark green, deep navy, charcoal, or warm mocha feature wall to let the two-tone amber and chocolate timber tones stand out in warm contrast. Style the top surface with a ceramic or linen-shaded bedside lamp, a small catchall tray, and an ambient reading light. Use the open shelf to stack art books or magazines, and layer the bed with crisp neutral linen bedding and textured waffle throws for a calm, boutique-hotel retreat.

Care & Maintenance:

• Dust timber surfaces, drawer fronts, and open shelving weekly using a clean, soft dry microfiber cloth.
• Wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth when necessary to remove surface dust; immediately buff completely dry with a soft towel.
• Nourish the timber periodically with high-quality wood furniture cream to preserve its rich grain luster and wood hydration.
• Always use coasters under beverage glasses, carafes, or hot mugs on the pull-out tray and top surface to protect the lacquered finish from heat and moisture rings.
• Avoid dragging abrasive objects across surfaces, keep clear of direct heat sources, and shield from harsh, prolonged UV sunlight.
