Indigenous Timber Heritage, Soft Bent Edging & Tactile Leather Craftsmanship

Transform your master bedroom retreat with the organic beauty, architectural curvature, and generous utility of the Elm Kiaat Wood Blanket Box. Available in dedicated Queen (1550mm) and King (1830mm) proportions, this luxury end-of-bed ottoman chest aligns effortlessly with standard bed widths, delivering a balanced, boutique-hotel focal point. Handcrafted in South Africa by master artisans, the Elm box unites the distinctive visual character of indigenous Kiaat with the refined tactile elegance of a padded leather top lid.

Key Features & Premium Construction

• Artisanal Bent Wood Edging: Sculpted with subtle, curved bent timber profiling along the corners and framework, softening the chest’s perimeter and protecting shins against sharp corners in low-lit bedrooms.
• Premium Padded Leather Top Lid: Upholstered in hard-wearing, supple leather over high-density foam padding, providing an inviting, durable bench seat for morning routines while adding sophisticated material contrast against the warm timber.
• Deep High-Capacity Internal Volume: Engineered with an expansive 550mm depth and a generous 630mm overall height, offering substantial enclosed storage for heavy goose-down duvets, spare blankets, winter throws, and scatter cushions.
• Solid Kiaat & Precision Veneer Blend: Hand-assembled utilizing solid indigenous Kiaat timber for structural corner framing, base plinths, and curved edge details, paired with balanced Kiaat veneers across broad side panels to resist seasonal checking, movement, or warping under fluctuating temperatures.
• Protective Clear Varnish Finish: Sealed in a durable clear varnish topcoat that enhances the vibrant natural contrast between honey-gold sapwood and deep reddish-brown heartwood while guarding against daily surface scuffs, spills, and bedroom humidity.
• Heavy-Duty Safety Lid Mechanics: Fitted with robust internal lid stay hinges engineered to support the weighted leather top, holding it safely open during packing and ensuring smooth, controlled closures for safe everyday family use.
• Multi-Room Utility: Beyond its role as a premier end-of-bed storage bench, its tailored proportions make it an elegant window seat, hallway bench, or living room storage ottoman.

Styling & Bedroom Placement Ideas

Anchor the Elm Kiaat Blanket Box directly at the foot of an Elm or Sleigh Kiaat bed frame to establish a cohesive, natural aesthetic. Set against deep emerald green, rich navy, or warm mocha accent walls, the golden-amber wood tones and leather lid command visual interest. Pair with crisp white textured linens, neutral chunky-knit throws, and warm ambient bedside lighting for an earthy, luxurious sanctuary.

Care & Maintenance:

• Dust timber surfaces and leather weekly using a clean, soft dry microfiber cloth.
• Wipe wood sections clean with a slightly damp cloth when necessary and buff completely dry immediately with a clean towel.
• Condition the leather lid periodically with a quality leather care balm to maintain suppleness and prevent drying or cracking.
• Wipe down varnished wood surfaces and treat periodically with a nourishing furniture cream to preserve its rich grain luster.
• Avoid dragging abrasive objects across surfaces, keep clear of open heat sources, and shield from harsh, direct sunlight.
